Mr. Nythri Tshering is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Forest Science at the College of Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan. He holds an M.Sc. in Forestry from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Botany and Life Sciences from Sherubtse College.
His research focuses on lichen diversity, phytochemistry, freshwater macroinvertebrates and plankton ecology, and ethnobotanical knowledge systems. Trained in key laboratory and molecular techniques, he integrates traditional ecological knowledge with modern scientific approaches to support evidence-based biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resource management.
Recognized for academic excellence through multiple King’s Certificates and the Honorary President’s Medal, he remains dedicated to contributing to evidence-based conservation and sustainable natural resource management.
